Big Faith for Big People
Why Do We Need Faith?
One of the first words a child learns to say is “Why?” This simple question reflects a deep, God-given desire within us to seek understanding. As believers, we must ask ourselves: Why do we need faith?
Faith is not just an abstract concept; it is the foundation of our relationship with Jesus and the key to living a victorious Christian life. It impacts every aspect of our walk with Christ—our ability to do God’s work, experience His righteousness, receive His promises, pray effectively, and stand firm against the enemy's schemes. Without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6), and without it, we are left vulnerable in a world that constantly seeks to shake our trust in Him.
The Value of Faith
Everything of value in the Kingdom of God comes at a great cost. Salvation was freely given to us, but it came through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Likewise, a life of faith requires endurance, perseverance, and a willingness to fight for what God has promised. The enemy will do everything he can to weaken our faith because he knows how powerful it is. That’s why Scripture tells us to "fight the good fight of faith" (1 Timothy 6:12). Faith is not passive—it’s a battle we must engage in daily.
In a world where people chase wealth, influence, and success, we must recognise that faith is more valuable than Bitcoin, gold, or any earthly treasure. It is through faith that we access the riches of God's grace, His unshakable peace, and His divine protection. Faith positions us to receive the impossible because it connects us to the limitless power of God.
The Benefits of Faith
When we walk by faith:
We experience God’s presence—Faith draws us near to God, and He rewards those who seek Him diligently (Hebrews 11:6).
We receive His promises—From Abraham to the present day, faith has been the key to unlocking God’s blessings.
We grow in righteousness—"The righteous will live by faith" (Romans 1:17).
We stand firm against the enemy—Faith is our shield against the fiery darts of the devil (Ephesians 6:16).
Understanding the necessity of faith should ignite a passion within us to pursue it with all our hearts.
If faith is this valuable, shouldn’t we do everything we can to strengthen it?
Until next time—keep the faith and fight the good fight!
